Atar Band is a RFID payment solution we developed for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. We were tasked with creating a portable, waterproof device that eliminates the need for charging. And we’re very proud of what we were able to achieve.
Throughout the concept and design phases, we prioritized durability, precision, and ease of use. We worked closely with Atar to develop a practical solution that was both user-friendly and reliable.
We’re exceptionally proud of the Atar Band. Easy to use and highly durable, it’s the world’s first non-recharging, fully portable payment solution aimed at the mass consumer market.
Precious Texture
We crafted every element with meticulous attention to detail for unparalleled performance. The diamond texture symbolizes strength and delivers functionality in concealing imperfections that occur during the tooling process. We used a blend of different metals to craft the clip to affix the band onto the wrist with an extra stretch built into the webbing, making it easy to cinch for optimal fit. Atar Band is designed to be sleek, precise, and durable.
Miniature Technology
At the heart of the Atar Band is nano-enabled RFID technology. We built practicality into the design by using the width of a payment card as our starting point. All the transactions and payment configurations are controlled by the Atar mobile app.
